The right song will keep everyone happy

Whatever the crowd may be, you as the bride and groom have the final say on what to play and what NOT to play.

As the night progresses the dj should know the proper protocol to either slow the crow down with a slow song or wake the guests up with some popular main stream music that’s heard today.

You can never go wrong with popular artists like Micheal Jackson, Beyonce Frank Sinatra and Lady Gaga. This seems like the whole entire specter and well, it is. Mixing certain music at certain times gives chances for guests that may not be so inclined to dance the night away to showcase some of their moves with the songs of their choice.
Old Blue Eyes

Pop Icon

Lets be honest, if you didnt have music at your wedding, well the reception could be a bit “dry”. Not to say, limited music is not bad, it’s just music is such a staple at a wedding that you want it to be powerful and offering choices to your guests.

Step 1: Try to think of songs that you know you absolutly want played at your wedding.
Step 2: Branch off of that one song and think of alternatives that are familiar to sound.

Say you love Frank Sinatra but only want a few songs of his, try to consider some basic jazz songs for your cocktail hour that may sound like Frank but has the ora of his songs.

You want to dance the night away to a few Lady Gaga songs, but don't want it to become a  GAGA concert, think of music that could possibly be comparable to hers.

Its all in the way the dj transitions these songs and in what time. Remember next time you meet with your dj, talk about possible alternatives to the songs you love and you'd be surprised of what they would have in their dj database!

Happy music planning!

Throw Caution to the Wind!!!

Throw caution to the wind in every way possible at your wedding, unless of course you absolutely need some traditional parts in place, otherwise, let loose!  What do we mean by that, well it's YOUR WEDDING, yes your wedding, do what makes you feel comfortable and follow through.

It's one night to lavish in an evening of matrimony and bliss, so give your guests a pallet of personalized food, entertainment, decor and fashion. Check out some excellent food ideas that will whoa your guests.

     http://www.delish.com/entertaining-ideas/parties/wedding/

Food can be tricky because one can worry so much about which cateror is the best in your area. Listen, you are paying big bucks to host your wedding, so feed your guest only the best and don't feel ashamed to taste test as many options as possible. You'd be surprised, some caterers will allow you to sneak some bits behind the scenes at their events rather than formally sitting down.

Entertainment is generally a DJ or live band. Brides will opt for the DJ for the reception and have live music for cocktail hour. Choose a DJ that meshes with you and your fiancé and form a positive report before you just go out and hire a him or her.  Get to know your DJ and see if your a match. Ask to visit some weddings they may be at and become a wallflower and see if their the right fit.

Decor and fashion are show stoppers at your wedding! No bride wants their wedding to be known as "good" or "nice". You want "omg their wedding was awesome". If you want to give your bridesmaids the option to grab their own dress but be monochromatic, thats awesome, its becoming more popular these days to allow such an enclitic array of dresses.

A running trend is finding unique venues to tie the knot. Barns, fields, beaches, homes and universities are just a few places brides are taking advantage of for the venue.

YOLO......make your wedding a night to remember and go all out. Remember "it's your night, so lets do it right"!

See Your Name in Lights with a Personalized Monogram!

Your wedding day is all about you, and you want everything to be as special as possible. One excellent addition to any wedding day is to see your name in lights. With gobo lighting, this is an easy task.

Gobo lighting projects a pattern or design. For your wedding, this can be your name and the date, a pair of hearts, or any other design that fits your theme. This can then be projected onto any wall, dance floors,  or any other flat surface.  After all, anyone can have the same decor, but only you will have gobo lighting!

Gobos are also ideal for your first dance wedding photos. Having your name projected on the dance floor as you dance for the first time as husband and wife will look beautiful in your photos and video.

You don’t need to be a lighting expert to have these features at your wedding, though. Elite Entertainment can bring custom gobo lighting to your Central Florida wedding as part of your wedding package.

To find out more about custom lighting options including gobos, or to book us for your big day, give us a call today!

Keeping your dance floor full all night long!

What sort of wedding music are you wanting to decide for your wedding? Glamorous, romantic, fun? Whatever style of wedding when it comes to your reception, Elite Entertainment will want to have a great mix of musical styles for you and your guests.

Here are a few reasons why your playlist should include both fast and slow songs.

1. It will reach more musical tastes. Some of your guests will love to get up on the dance floor and rock the night away, while others will prefer something mellow they can sway to.

2. It lets you get all the songs you love in. Chances are your favorite music include a mix of musical styles and speeds. Your reception should be full of the songs you want to hear, and this will generally mean a mix of fast and slow songs.

3. It keeps things interesting. A mix of musical speeds can help keep the reception interesting You don’t want all the music to start to sound the same after an hour, and mixing some slow songs in with the fast songs can keep guests more entertained.

4. It keeps guests going. Fast songs for your wedding will get guests energized, but slow songs will allow them to re-energize. Whether they use the slow songs as a time to refresh off the dance floor or just slow down their own tempo, including a mix will help keep the dancing going all through the night.

To find out more about creating the perfect mix of songs for your Florida wedding, give us a call today!

How to Create Your Wedding Reception Playlist

Planning your wedding means that you should be careful of even the smallest detail in your celebration. Even though you may decide to hire a DJ to play the music in your wedding reception, it still is a good idea to create a playlist for the event. This is so you can choose the songs that you would like to listen to on your big day. Instead of having the DJ play just about any song, you can have him play a certain genre or song title for your reception.

When it comes to creating your wedding playlist, there are some songs that you will need to consider. Use these things to help you pick out the right songs to include in your reception playlist:

What are your key songs?
Do you have a set of favorite songs that you and your fiancé love to listen to? Make sure that you sit down with your fiancé and talk about the songs that you would like to be played at your wedding reception. Think about the songs you both enjoy listening to on your dates. Also, include the songs that you were listening to when you first met, shared your first kiss, or first knew that you were in love with one another. This is a great way you can walk down memory lane and discover new things about your partner.

Consider the theme of your wedding
If you have decided to use a theme for your wedding, you should also think about the music genre that would be fitting to it. For example, if you have a beach wedding, you may want to include reggae music into your playlist instead of using country music.

Consider your Guests
When planning the music for your wedding reception, you should also consider the interests of your guests as well as their age. If you will have guests of the older crowd, you can incorporate some of the popular songs that they enjoy. This is the best way you can get your guests on the dance floor in no time!

Coordinate with your DJ
Remember that your chosen DJ has experience working with wedding playlists. For this, make sure to consult with him on some opinions and suggestions of songs that would be great for your wedding reception. You can get new tips from him!

Of course, you wouldn't want to restrict your DJ with the songs you want to be played in your reception. Considering that you hired a professional DJ to help you with your music, you can simply give him a list of the songs you enjoy and trust that he will take care of the rest.

3 Reasons on Why You Should Have a Photobooth at Your Wedding

Nowadays, an event is considered incomplete if there is no photobooth to take memories of the guests. No matter how big or small the event is, the photobooth is almost always included as a way for guests to enjoy themselves at the party. Even with formal events, there is almost always a photobooth waiting outside the hallway for guests who would like to have their photos taken.

If you are contemplating whether or not you should hire a photobooth for your wedding, here are some reasons why you should:

They make fun memories
The good thing about a photobooth is that it is able to bring out the individual’s wacky personality. They know that each frame will be composed of different photos, which is why they make attempts to distort their face or expression. With this at your wedding, your guests can look back at the photos and remember the time they had a blast with the photobooth. Besides, no one frowns on these photos—unless it’s a pre-discussed pose.

You get instant souvenirs
Plenty of couples opt for hiring a photobooth service at their wedding because they use this to serve as a wedding favor. Instead of having to worry about what they should give out to guests, the couple can simply set up the photobooth and let their guests do their thing. Once the photos have been printed out, they can bring them home to use as a wedding favor.

It entertains your guests
During instances wherein you are having some down time in preparing the program, you can have your guests enjoy the photobooth. Instead of getting bored, they can simply return to the photobooth to have their photos taken and printed out; each time with a different set of friends. It helps keep your guests entertained throughout the reception.

Another option for entertaining your guests is to hire a professional wedding DJ that can take care of the music in your reception. You can give us a call today so we can talk about how to make your reception lively.

First Dance Songs at Celebrity Couples’ Weddings

Having a wedding is an exciting time for any couple’s life. Since it signifies the start of their lives together as husband and wife, they need to go through with all the traditional events in the wedding ceremony and reception. As such, the need to plan the wedding details carefully arises, particularly the key parts of the wedding such as the exchange of vows, first kiss, cake cutting, and the first dance.

When it comes to the first dance, it is important to choose a song that relates to your relationship as a couple. Especially since there are plenty of different songs to choose from, you need to go through with some of your options and decide the one that best speaks to you and your fiancé.

Another way you can choose your first dance song is to go for the commonly used ones. While there are the obvious favorites (like the ones on our previous blog post), there are some songs that are new and have not been used as much. At the same time, you may also follow the songs used by celebrity couples during their first dance. Here are some of these songs:

Nick Lachey + Vanessa Minnillo – A Kiss to Build a Dream On by Steve Tyrell
Drew Barreymore + Will Kopelman – No One’s Gonna Love You by Band of Horses
Mark Zuckerberg + Priscilla Chan – Last Night on Earth by Green Day
Joel Madden + Nicole Richie – What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
Carrie Underwood + Mike Fisher – Love Never Fails by Brandon Heath
Tom Cruise + Katie Holmes – Songbird by Fleetwood Mac
Beyonce + Jay-Z – Crazy In Love by Beyonce and Jay-Z
David Beckham + Victoria Adams – It Had To Be You by The Starlight Orchestra
President Barack Obama + Michelle Robinson – You and I by Stevie Wonder
Kate Middleton + Prince William – Your Song by Elton John (performed by Ellie Goulding)

Which of these songs would you want to use for your own first dance? Let us know in the comments below! You can also give us a call so we can talk about your other options.

Should You Entertain Song Requests at Your Wedding?

Your wedding music plays an important role than you think. The music is not just there to entertain your guests or serve as a ‘filler’ so that there won’t be an awkward silence during the reception. The music you choose to play at your wedding reception plays a much more important role than that—it sets the mood at the venue and provides a way everyone will feel the emotions you share with your spouse. At the same time, it will draw in your guests to start dancing and enjoying themselves.

One of the common concerns many couples share is whether or not they will entertain song requests during such events. Your guests may not share the same taste in music as you do. If they request for a song to play at your wedding reception that you are not fond of, it may only be a waste of time for the DJ to play it. This is why you have to determine whether or not you will accept song requests at your wedding reception.

So what are your options on this matter? Here are some ideas on how you can deal with this decision:

Allowing Song Requests
If you will allow song requests to be made at your wedding, you may request your guests to list down their chosen titles on a piece of paper that you supply to them. This way, they do not have to go to the DJ’s booth and tell him the song they would like to be played. By listing down their song requests, you can have your wedding planner collect them and be the one to hand them over to the DJ.

No Song Requests
Meanwhile, if you decide not to entertain song requests at your reception, the best way you can handle this is to let your DJ be the one to deflect the requests during the wedding. However, you may opt to send your guests a piece of paper along with their invitations so they can list down their song requests beforehand. This way, you can go over the songs and pick out the ones that you can add to your list.

Whether you decide to entertain song requests at your wedding or not, make sure that you supply your DJ a ‘Do Not Play List.’ Include the songs or genre of songs that you do not want to listen to during your wedding. This will include songs you dislike, interactive songs (if you hate them), and past songs that you share with your exes. By having a list, your DJ will know which songs he should avoid.

Call us today to learn how we can help you come up with a ‘Do Not Play List.’

How to Get Guests on the Dance Floor

For any newlywed couple, the success of their wedding depends on how well their guests enjoyed themselves during the event. This is why they want to make sure they plan everything carefully—from hiring caterers to provide delicious food to decorators who can transform the venue. But when it comes to hiring DJs, they need to ensure that the ones they hire have the background in weddings. By doing so, they can ensure that their guests will be on the dance floor in no time!

Hiring a good DJ means that he/she needs to have a set of songs from different ages and genres with him. Compared to a bar, a wedding will have guests from all walks of life and all ages. Because of this, the DJ needs to play songs that are suitable for them to enjoy. When they do, they can enjoy themselves well enough to go to the dance floor and start partying.

Another quality a DJ needs to possess is to know when to make the transition music. Since he/she will be providing the music for the event while the guests are still seated and enjoying their meals, he/she will need to know which songs to play during that time. And when the guests are ready to take off their shoes and start dancing, he/she needs to make that transition smoothly. During this time, he/she should play songs that are upbeat and danceable.

The secret to getting your guests on the dance floor really depends on how good your DJ is. But you also have to lead by example. Without you and your spouse dancing, your guests may be shy to start going to the dance floor. This is why you have to lead them in the dancing. This way, they will know that you would like them to join you as well.

Make sure you hire a good and professional wedding DJ to take care of your music. Call us today to learn how we can do it for you!
